Get help

Whizz-Kidz offers help to disabled children and young people. If you’re a young disabled person or the parent of a disabled child this is where you’ll find out about our service and how we may be able to help you.

Equally, if you’re a therapist or other professional working with disabled children and young people you’ll be able to see what our service offers.

Our service includes:

Mobility equipment

We provide essential mobility equipment – powered or manual wheelchairs and recreational equipment such as trikes – that are customised to meet individual needs.

Wheelchair training

Our wheelchair training programme will show you how to improve how you use your wheelchair, teach you new wheelchair skills and road safety awareness.

Advice

Our staff provide the advice that disabled children and their families need to get the right wheelchair whether they are applying to us or looking to buy a wheelchair privately.

Why not also visit our parents forum where you can share tips and advice with other families with disabled children in their care.

Life skills

If you’ve received a wheelchair from Whizz-Kidz we offer you the chance to learn essential life skills to support you through your transition to adulthood.

Newcastle mobility centre

Our mobility centre offers a ‘one stop shop’ for families with disabled children living in the North East.

Our new pilot partnership in London is delivered in partnership with Tower Hamlets NHS Primary Care Trust and provides an enhanced service for disabled children and young people in the capital.

I like being an ambassador because I can make people more aware of my condition, I can help raise more money for the charity to support disabled children, and most of all make friends!
